Tilaiya Dam

Tilaiya Dam is a major water reservoir in the Koderma district of Jharkhand, India. The dam was constructed on the Barakar River and completed in 1953. The Tilaiya Dam is an earth-fill type of dam and one of Jharkhand's largest dams. The barrier has a capacity of 11.94 billion cubic meters for irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and flood control. Koderma Reserve Forest

About 41% part of the Koderma district is covered with forests.The total forest area of Koderma district is 64796.90 hectare is scattered in 309 forest villages as preotected forest under administrative control of Koderma Forest Division together with 15062.77 hectare scattered in 35 forest villages as a reserved forest. The reserved forest area of Koderma district is declared as wild life sanctuary and is under administrative control of wild life division Hazaribagh.

Satagawan Petro Falls

Rising in the Mahawar hills below the Satgawan police station, 70 kilometres from the Koderma district headquarters, the Petro waterfalls are a magnificent sight for tourists, surrounded by greenery. The sight of the water cascading down from the hills is breath taking. There are many other waterfalls flowing down from the large hills in the area. Maa Chanchala Devi Shaktipeeth

Shiv Shaktipeeth Mata Chanchala Devi hill located in Nawalshahi at a distance of about 33 km from Koderma district headquarters is a center of attraction for tourists as well as devotees. Mata Chanchala Devi is considered to be a form of Durga. The main gate of Shiv Shaktipeeth Mata Chanchala Devi is located at Kanikend turn of Nawalshahi. Chanchalini Dham is located in the forest about 8 km from here. Maa Chanchala Devi is established in the middle of the mountains at a height of about 400 feet. There is also a cave on the mountain. Different forms of Maa Durga can be seen inside the cave.
